How the apartment is laid out
Roof Terrace covers 50 square metres on the second floor of a building in Cannaregio, close to Campo dei Gesuiti. A private entrance leads into a bright, sunny space. The bedroom is separate with a double bed, wardrobe and blackout curtains. The living room has a sofa bed for a third guest when needed.
The kitchen is integrated into the living space and equipped with an electric hob, fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster and espresso machine. There’s a dining area both inside and on the altana. The bathroom has a bidet, shower, hairdryer and courtesy kit. The washing machine is in the apartment. The real feature, though, is the altana: a private rooftop terrace with outdoor furniture and an al fresco dining area. Very. Fondamenta Nuove is a 5-minute walk, with direct vaporetto connections to Murano, Burano and Torcello. If visiting the islands is part of your stay, this is one of the better positions in Venice for it. You come back to a quiet street and your own private altana.
Yes — the apartment is on the second floor, one flight up. Then, to reach the altana from the apartment, there are additional internal stairs. If stairs are a difficulty, one of our ground-floor apartments would be more suitable. If stairs aren’t an issue, the altana is absolutely worth the climb.
