Venice deserves a different kind of tourism. We’re working towards it, one apartment at a time.

Our story

Melusina Homes began with Andrea’s decision to invest in Venice in a different way. Not to ride the wave of mass tourism, but to build something more sustainable: carefully maintained apartments, a present and reliable team, and guests who value quality over a budget bed.

We started by selecting apartments in the real neighbourhoods of Venice: Castello, San Polo, San Marco and Cannaregio. Places where Venetians actually live, away from the day-trip crowds. Today we manage 15 homes, each with its own character, all held to the same standard of care.

We’re not a multinational. We don’t manage hundreds of properties. And that’s intentional. We want to know every apartment, every guest, every detail.

What to do in Venice →

We promote a slow approach to tourism in Venice: a more lasting, more sustainable experience — for the city and for the traveller. The goal is not to reduce the number of visitors, but the speed at which the city is consumed.

The perfect apartment for my stay during the Biennale. A quiet terrace where I could work in the morning, ten minutes on foot from the Giardini. Andrea and his team were always available but never intrusive, with excellent recommendations on where to eat away from the tourist crowds. I’ll definitely be back.

Stayed here for two weeks during the Architecture Biennale and couldn't have asked for better. The apartment had everything I needed to work remotely – fast WiFi, proper workspace, and a quiet neighborhood that felt authentically Venetian. Andrea's recommendations for local spots were spot-on, all places where locals actually go. The walk to the Arsenale takes about twelve minutes, perfect for clearing your head between pavilions. This is exactly what Venice should be: real, comfortable, and far from the tourist circus.
